About me
I'm currently employed with the California Department of Water Resources as the technical lead for national hydrography data stewardship program and have been since its inception ten years ago. I'm a member of Geospatial Professional Network and served a term as president of the Northern California Chapter, which is now merged with the California Chapter. I'm currently a board member for the California Geographic Information Association and chair for the CGIA Community Forum. Learning GIS at American River College in Sacramento enabled my mid-life career change. I'm interested in connecting with others who are interested in improving California’s surface water map, methods for deriving hydrography from elevation, data stewardship, the reform of CA Business and Professional Code regarding the Practic of Surveying, and anything that can help government do better regarding geographic data and data practices.
