Jennifer Buchanan is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and received a GIS Certificate of Achievement. She has over 20 years of years of experience as a Water Resources Engineer and GIS Specialist. Ms. Buchanan specializes in dam and spillway CFD modeling, inundation and emergency mapping, integrating GIS and CAD data with various Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling software, and large-scale mapping projects. Buchanan is skilled in the application of GIS technology to a wide variety of practice areas including planning, water resources, and emergency management. Buchanan created and oversaw the production of the vast majority of maps and information products in the Central Valley Floodplain Evaluation and Delineation Program (CVFED) for the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the City/County of Sacramento Flood Emergency Evacuation Plan among many other water related projects.
