About me
Rhena Berning is a GIS Analyst II with the Solano County Department of Information Technology. She holds a Master of Arts in Applied Sociology and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Central Florida. Additionally, she is a Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and is credentialed as a CalOES Type III Emergency Operations Center GIS Specialist. She is involved in supporting Solano County's NG-911 implementation efforts, and assists the Solano County Office of Emergency Services.
Prior to joining Solano County, Rhena has worked across a variety of GIS fields. Including the completion of volunteer GIS work on humanitarian efforts including the use of OpenStreetMap to assist with malaria prevention efforts in Africa and fieldwork in Belize to support environmental protection and disaster resiliency efforts which have been recognized by the Obama Administration, MIT, and the University of Central Florida.
